Knuckle Promotions
New for 2014 is the launch of the latest promotions company to take Bareknuckle boxing and its sister sport
Broughton’s boxing to a new level. Knuckle Promotions is totally devoted to propel these ancient sports into the public domain and as a sport in the 21st century.
The humble and unassuming figure of James Quinn, star of the award winning documentary and the book named Knuckle with the aid of his team have enlisted the IBKBF to sanction all the events. For anyone not familiar with the IBKBF let me give you some details. It was set up
in 2012 after it was obvious changes were needed in the sport of BKB to make it more professional and appealing to a wider audience.
Firstly the IBKBF have introduced weight divisions to stop some of the obvious mismatches regularly seen on
YouTube, this coupled with matching the fighters by experience makes it as safe as any other combat sport out there. As with any Sanctioning body the IBKBF takes the fighters well-being as paramount in its organisation so all fights will take place in a standard boxing ring, coupled with a qualified referee and ringside paramedics. Two other features the IBKBF are proud of is the introduction of a fighters licence, anyone wishing to fight on a IBKBF event will have to apply for one. This passport type licence will contain all fighters’ details including a photo and must be shown at all events. If for
example a fighter is KO’d or suffers other injuries he will be suspended until deemed fit to fight again by a medical officer. Another plus of working with the IBKBF is also that every fighter will also be drug tested by our qualified staff and we are also looking at random blood testing in the future.
Knuckle Promotions feel it is time to launch 2014 with a bang and our first event will take place in March, with a
planned further 6 to 8 events to take place the same year. We have also secured an eastern European country to host events which will also be fully sanctioned by the IBKBF, so it’s an exciting time for all the team involved.
To produce a fine stable of fighters Knuckle Promotions will be offering contracts to fighters and we encourage
anyone with a passion for combat sports to join our squad and to showcase your skills in-front of some great crowds and in legitimate venues.
If any other promoter wishes to stage Bareknuckle boxing then it will be an advantage to everyone if the Licences are purchased.
For any fighters wanting to join our stable where we can offer an initial 4 fight contract, please get in touch using the
contact page, also if any other promoters want advice or information we will be only too pleased to help.
